Any dental assistant who performs expanded functions in a dental office must be registered by the Board as a registered dental assistant.
A registered dental assistant that takes x-rays must be registered as a dental radiographer.
Anesthesia & Sedation
A registered dental assistant that administers nitrous oxide inhalation analgesia sedation must hold a nitrous oxide inhalation analgesia permit.
A registered dental assistant that monitors patients under General Anesthesia, Deep Sedation or Moderate Sedation must hold a permit to monitor.
